Prof. h.c. Dr. med. Andreas Sobottka
is a psychoanalyst (DPV / IPA / APsaA / DGPT), training therapist, and supervisor, as well as a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
In his own private practice in Cologne he works with individuals and groups, and he also lectures at a psychoanalytic training institute and at a private university.
As a reserve staff officer in the German Armed Forces Medical Service, he is deployed to a post at the Medical Support Center in Cologne-Wahn.
His research and scientific work focuses on the human-animal relationship and, in particular, the use of canine-assisted therapy for people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
